It’s Elf Season!
Halloween is over. Thanksgiving is almost here so you know what that means! Soon it will be Elf on the Shelf season. If you are new to the Elf on the Shelf tradition it’s fairly to get started. First, you need your own Elf on the Shelf doll and book set. The story explains how your elf gets its magic and why your children are not allowed to touch their Elf while they visit. In our home, our elves, Rigsby & Pixie, make their grand arrival on December 1st. If it’s on the weekend they come with a full breakfast full of sweets directly from the North Pole. If December 1st lands on a school day Rigsby and Pixie are waiting for my kiddos to get home from school with a table full of fun including gingerbread houses, cookies to decorate and a new Christmas game.
Each year I try to use new ideas to keep the magic alive with my family. We all know how quickly children grow so I make sure I keep the magic in Christmas for as long as possible. Incorporating the Elf on the Shelf into our Christmas traditions is a no-brainer for our family. Rigsby and Pixie bring the magic of the North Pole straight into our home. Amazon has a wonderful selection of Elf on the Shelf on accessories that will make your Elf planning that much easier. Here are a few of my favorite Elf on the Shelf items that can easily be found on Amazon.
Elf on the Shelf Book Set
First up, you need an Elf. In this set, you get the store all about the Elf on the Shelf and his magical powers. In addition to the book, you will also receive an Elf all ready to get caught up in all sorts of shenanigans.
Elf on the Shelf Book Set {Girl Elf}

Elf Pets
A fun new add-on to the Elf on the Shelf tradition are the Elf Pets. The Saint Bernard story is a beautiful one that shows children the importance of being kind. Acts of kindness examples are given throughout the book which leaves your children wanting to pay it forward.
Elf Pets {Reindeer}
Elf pets reindeer set is another magical addition to the Elf on the Shelf family This magical reindeer comes with a book that describes how he helps his Elf pal travel back to the North Pole magically each night.

This adorable elf-sized set is the perfect “welcome” for your Elf. The magical door leads to the North Pole and you can add a bit of fun with the accessories included in this kit.
Elves at Play
Stuck on ideas? This book is filled with 100 ideas for your Elf so you will never run out of ideas. There are over fifteen elf size tools and toys to help you plan the ultimate, magical filled journey with your Elf.
Baking Set
Holiday Baking is one of my favorite holiday traditions and I LOVE involving the Elf every year. This baking set is the perfect accessory to add a bit of flavor to your annual Christmas baking day!
Snow Day
Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? Well, now your Elf can be fully prepared. Maybe it doesn’t snow by you but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a fun snow day with your favorite little help – add a bit of flour and you’re set!
Dance Party
Dance parties are huge in our home, especially at Christmastime. Wouldn’t it be fun if your Elf could join in on the fun? With this festive sweatshirt and earphone set they will be reading for a day full of dancing.
Paper Crafts for your Elves
Are you struggling with ideas? Not very crafty? This is the book for you. Let me be honest – I love Pinterest, consider myself a crafter but once December 1st hits I feel rushed. This book has been a lifesaver for my sanity – haha! We’ve all been there with our Elves I’m sure but this book helps in so many fun ways.
Elf Scarf
An adorable winter accessory for your Elf. In our house, it helps to act as a reminder to bundle up because it’s cold! I think I have more fun with our elves than my kids – whoops!
Sleep Sack
One of my kid’s favorite ways to find their Elf is sleeping in their room! I used to make something for the elf to sleep in but this is far cuter! My kids look forward to their Elf sleepover every year and this accessory helps add a touch more whimsy to the big event.
Sleeping Bag
Another fun sleeping bag option for your Elf. The kids will love having a sleepover with their favorite magical buddy!
Elf Pajamas
Elf pajamas make for a fun addition every year. They can be used during the Elf sleepover as I mentioned above or you can use them on a day you are giving your kids new Christmas jammies. No matter what you decide these PJs are an adorable accessory for your Elf.
Elf Party Pack
When our Elves come to town we always host an event of some kinda fun North Pole themed breakfast, a cookie decorating day or gingerbread making. This set adds more fun to the festivities. My kids love celebrating with their Elves!
Elf Tux
Dress up your Elf for a fun night at the house. You don’t even need to do anything special but seeing their Elf dressed up always makes my kids giggle. Maybe a family member is getting married near the holidays this would be a fun way to help celebrate the big day!
Elf Skirts
Can’t leave the ladies out when it comes to dressing up! My daughter loves seeing her Elf dressed up on the morning of her Christmas recital. That’s literally all I do that night. I add a skirt to her Elf and a scribble a note “Good luck” Easy Peasy. I love how much easier having accessories makes Elf planning – ha!
Toy Soldier
This is new for my family this year – a toy soldier outfit. The Nutcracker has become a new favorite around here so I knew I had to have this fun addition for our Elf.
Christmas Tree Costume
One of my favorites! Our Elves usually arrive with our Christmas tree but it’s bare when they get here. The next morning I leave them on top of our ornament bucket dressed in this costume with a note that reads “Let’s Decorate this Baby” My kids go crazy. They think its sooooo funny. Easily one of my favorite traditions!
Movie Night
Christmas movie nights are HUGE in my house. I love to incorporate the Elf into our yearly tradition and this set makes my life sooooo much easier {are you sensing a pattern?}. I mean look at those adorable popcorn buckets how could you not want to use this!
Elf Notes
Notes from the Elf are always a fun treat and this set makes everything so easy. Honestly, its a must-have for anyone that has an Elf. I say this strictly because of the ease of things. It’s the busiest time of the year for our family so anything that makes my life easier is a plus!
Letters to Santa
I saved the BEST for last. Letters to Santa is something I believe every child that believes in Santa and has an Elf should experience. You get a beautiful story to read with your child plus a writing set that’s magical! The paper provided is the regular size and your child can write on it easily but once you are done you bake your letter using the tools provided in the kit and VIOLA! Your child’s Christmas list becomes Elf size. Your Elf brings it to the North Pole for Santa to read and a few days letter returns it so you can keep your list as a Christmas ornament. I honestly cannot put into words how special this activity is.
